A Year in Retrospect

My Side-Project CLOQ in 2021

In 2021 I invested part of my leasure time in further upgrading my side-project CLOQ – an online timer for remote teams.

Firstly, I – or rather Tim – rebuilt the code to accomodate a database. Which in turn laid the foundation for two big improvements.

  1. Facilitators and participants can now use a timer from different timezones.
  2. Facilitators can reset a timer from the same URL, enabling continuous time-boxing especially for workshops.

Achievements and Learnings

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ Via my extended network I recruited a couple of people to extensively test CLOQ within their work environment.

πŸŽ† Organically, CLOQ helped 482 Visitors (2020: 349) from 34 Countries (2020: 15) with their individual productivity or time-boxing for their teams. I did this without investing in any paid channels.

🀬 I accidently removed the tracking from the index. Which I realized on 01-01-2022. Thus, I cannot evaluate the statistics for which inbound channels are actually working. Bummer!

Outlook

For 2022 I want to improve on three things, mainly. The ease-of-use for facilitators, the design for all users and the visibility of CLOQ itself. Currently, I am contemplating to invest some money into SEA. We will see…
