A Bucket of Appreciation

A mood booster for challenging days

There are days when I sit in the office and have the impression that the job I’m doing just isn’t good enough. Then I feel like a fraud in my job.

Over time, I have found an antidote to these difficult moments: I collect appreciations for the work I do in a folder on my computer. My “Bucket of Appreciation”. Not as a portfolio of my successes, but as a personal reservoir of energy.

Whether it’s a thank you email from a colleague, positive feedback from a client, or a kind message from my mentor, each item is a reminder of the value I bring to my work and the people around me.

When times are tough or before I go into an important meeting or project, this collection helps me. It recharges my confidence and brings my self-perception back in line with the positive impact I’ve made.

For anyone who sometimes feels overwhelmed, I recommend this simple tool. Collect those small or significant gestures of appreciation.

Or give someone else something to put into their bucket.
