Review of the AGILE.RUHR Camp 2025
From laughter to learning
The AGILE.RUHR Camp 2025 at Unperfekthaus Essen once again provided a platform for exchange, inspiration and shared learning on April 5 and 6, 2025. As hosts, Berthold, Markus and Jörg once again showed great commitment to ensuring that the barcamp ran smoothly even under adverse circumstances - a place that not only discusses agility, but lives it.
My highlights of the camp
Good discussions and new ideas: Lunch with Thomas led to an exciting exchange about strategy and innovation work in large companies. The round of games with dad jokes and quick-witted remarks - with Jean-Pierre (🤜🤛), Jens and Oliver (🧨), among others - also ensured a light and good mood.
Instructive sessions: I was particularly impressed by Bernd Joussen’s session on management retrospectives. The approaches were practical: hold preliminary discussions with allies, establish a clear structure and timeboxing and justify the choice of methods transparently. I will integrate these tips directly into my work.
Own contributions: My two sessions “3 terms to talk about strategy more easily” and “Integrating strategy into daily work” met with a positive response. I was particularly gratified by the feedback from Michael, Adriane and Hanno - members of the second cohort of Markus’ Strategy Collective. The exchange on strategy work in the Ruhr region remains a central point for me.
Community and progress
A lot has changed since my first visit in 2018: Valuable acquaintances have grown out of impressive encounters. The AGILE.RUHR Camp is more than just an (un)conference - it is a community that strengthens agility in the Ruhr region.
